This Vasconcellea comes from the semi-deciduous forests in the state of São Paulo and grows to a maximum height of 3m.
This species can branch from the base, does not have a hollow trunk and has male and female flowers on one plant!
It likes temperatures between 10 and 35 degrees.
She doesn't like waterlogging.
About the fruits, collector Helton Muniz says:
"Fruiting from December to April.
The fruits have a fleshy skin and can be eaten either in soups or stewed with other vegetables or meat; or better yet, used to make a very tasty sweet in syrup."
The plant is often cultivated as an ornamental plant both because of its small size and its beautiful fruits.
Please overwinter at at least 10 degrees.
Diese Vasconcellea stammt aus den halblaubabwerfenden Wäldern im Bundesstaat São Paulo und wird maximal 3m groß.
Diese Art kann sich von der Basis an verzweigen, hat keinen hohlen Stamm und hat männliche und weibliche Blüten an einer Pflanze!
Sie mag Temperaturen zwischen 10 und 35 Grad. Staunässe mag sie nicht.
Über die Früchte sagt der Sammler Helton Muniz:
"Fruchtbildung von Dezember bis April. Die Früchte haben eine fleischige Haut und können entweder in Suppen verzehrt oder mit anderem Gemüse oder Fleisch geschmort werden; oder noch besser, verwendet, um eine sehr leckere Süßigkeit in Sirup zu machen."
Die Pflanze wird sowohl wegen ihrer geringen Größe als auch wegen ihrer schönen Früchte oft als Zierpflanze kultiviert.
