The German gardener and explorer Bernhard Luschnath discovered and identified over 100 plants in the 19th century.
He put his name on the best ones in the nomenclature.
This was also the case with this Myrcia.
The golden coloring of the underside of the leaves fascinated him. These beautiful leaves grow to almost 20cm long!
And the fruits are great too.
Sweet, juicy but a bit small.
But if we consider that we eat some fruits of this size, it's not a problem.
This fruit is related to the Jaboticaba and is called (how could it be otherwise): Myrcia luschnathiana
Please overwinter at a temperature of at least 10 degrees.

Den besten drückte er seinen Namen in der Nomenklatur auf.
So auch bei dieser Myrcia.
Die goldene Färbung der Blattunterseite faszinierte ihn. Diese schönen Blätter werden fast 20cm lang!
Und auch die Früchte sind toll.
Süß, saftig aber etwas klein.
Wenn wir aber bedenken, dass wir einige Früchte dieser Größe essen, ist es nicht schlimm.
Diese Frucht ist übrigens mit der Jaboticaba verwandt und heißt (wie könnte es anders sein): Myrcia luschnathiana
Bitte bei mindestens 10 Grad überwintern.
