Nobody is quite sure about this Eugenia yet.
It is also called Eugenia pyriformiy x lutescens (Sweet Uvaia) and at Kew they say that it is a synonym of Eugenia sellowiana.
However, we can clearly see that the E. sellowiana grows and looks completely different to this E. lutescens.
This Eugenia is actually much more similar to the E. pyriformis.
It does, however, have larger fruits and larger leaves.
The fruits taste sweeter than the E. pyriformis and are very tasty.
It can be grown well in pots and also bears fruit in pots.
Although this Eugenia tolerates light frosts, please overwinter it at a minimum of 10 degrees.
Man ist sich bei dieser Eugenia noch nicht ganz sicher.
Man nennt sie auch Eugenia pyriformiy x lutescens (Sweet Uvaia) und bei Kew sagt man, dass es sich um ein Synonym der Eugenia sellowiana handelt.
Wir können jedoch eindeutig feststellen, dass die E. sellowiana völlig anders wächst und aussieht als diese E. lutescens.
Diese Eugenia hat tatsächlich viel mehr Ähnlichkeit mit der E. pyriformis.
Sie bekommt allerdings größere Früchte und größere Blätter.
Die Früchte schmecken süßer als die E. pyriformis und sind sehr lecker.
Sie kann gut in Töpfen angebaut werden und fruchtet auch in Töpfen.
Obwohl diese Eugenia leichte Fröste verträgt, bitte bei mindestens 10 Grad überwintern.
