This guava is native to the Amazon Basin in Brazil, but has established itself in many other tropical and subtropical regions with similar characteristics.
The tree bears fruit when the plants are between 3 and 6 years old.
The whole fruit can be eaten, as both the thin skin and the juicy interior are soft and tasty.
It can also be used to make jam and juices.
For a sweeter taste, the skin is often removed.
The seeds are small and white.
The leaves can be used to make tea.
It is easy to maintain and grow in a container.

Der Baum trägt Früchte, wenn die Pflanzen zwischen 3 und 6 Jahre alt sind.
Die ganze Frucht kann gegessen werden, da sowohl die dünne Schale als auch das saftige Innere weich und schmackhaft sind.
Sie kann auch zur Herstellung von Marmelade und Säften verwendet werden.
Für einen süßeren Geschmack wird die Schale oft entfernt.
Die Samen sind klein und weiß.
Aus den Blättern kann Tee aufgebrüht werden.
Haltung und Pflege ist einfach und die Pflanze läßt sich leicht im Kübel ziehen.
