This fruit tastes fantastic.
It is said to be like mangosteen with burnt caramel and notes of vanilla and cinnamon.
This is not a plant for beginners.
It comes from the Cerrado region in Brazil and there is a three-month dry season there.
However, the roots must not dry out during this time.
In the Cerrado, the roots are several meters deep in the earth and therefore do not dry out completely.
We only water our Cerrado plants a little from below during the winter months.
These plants are able to sprout again from the roots after they have dried out.
Please overwinter at a minimum of 10 degrees (although they can tolerate brief frost).
