This Eugenia is one of the rarest Eugenias and in recent years has only been found in private collections and has not been found in the wild.
The last known location was in the Brazilian state of São Paulo between the towns of Pilar do Sul and Itapetininga.
The fruits themselves are about the size of small pears and have a very good taste.
The taste is a shade more sour than sweet and very exotic.
This is not a plant for beginners.
It comes from the Cerrado region in Brazil and there is a three-month dry season there.
However, the roots must not dry out during this time.
In the Cerrado, the roots are several meters deep in the ground and therefore do not dry out completely.
We only water our Cerrado plants a little from below during the winter months.
These plants are able to sprout again from the roots after they have dried out.
Please overwinter at a temperature of at least 10 degrees.
Diese Eugenia ist eine der seltensten Eugenien und befand sich in den letzten Jahren nur noch in Privatsammlungen und wurde in der freien Natur nicht mehr gefunden.
Der letzte bekannte Fundort war im brasilianischen Bundesstaat São Paulo zwischen den Orten Pilar do Sul und Itapetininga.
Die Früchte selbst werden ca. so groß wie kleine Birnen und haben einen sehr guten Geschmack.
Dieser Geschmack ist eine Nuance mehr saurer als süß und sehr exotisch.
Dies ist keine Anfängerpflanze.
Sie stammt aus der Cerrado-Region in Brasilien und dort gibt es eine dreimonatige Trockenzeit.
Dennoch dürfen die Wurzeln in dieser Zeit nicht austrocknen.
Im Cerrado sind die Wurzeln mehrere Meter tief in der Erde und trocknen daher nicht vollständig aus.
Wir gießen unsere Cerrado-Pflanzen während der Wintermonate nur wenig von unten.
Diese Pflanzen sind in der Lage, nach einem Zurücktrocknen, aus der Wurzel neu auszutreiben.
Überwintern bitte bei mindestens 10 Grad.
